Skitouring in Åre Sweden. Åre is most known as a alpine ski resort but in Ullådalen just 5 km from Åre you have open mountain terrain perfect for ski touring.

We start from Ullådalen 5 km from Åre, and follow the trail north to Ullsjön. We’re already at 737 meters above sea level and is surrounded by mountain peaks. Then we go off the trail and make our own trails toward Nordhallsfjällen. The tour goes over the rolling mountains and the smaller lakes and ponds interspersed between mountain ridges. Here you can often see herds of reindeer and sometimes moose on the mountain. With luck, it is possible to see wolverine tracks.
The views are magnificent on this tour with Kallsjön in the north, Skäckerfällen in the west and Suljättens rock walls often shines red in the low sun.
