JoPe Fors & Fjäll

Activities in Åre since 1989

About the Company

Jonas Persson owns and runs JoPe Fors & Fjäll together with Åsa Persson Kjellgren. Both Jonas and Åsa trained at the Fjälledarlinjen in Storuman. Jonas started with adventure activities as early as 1986 in Storlien and started JoPe Fors & Fjäll in 1989.

Rafting developed rapidly over the next few years. Wet suits were purchased, life jackets were replaced with sturdy life jackets from the USA. The boats became smaller and self-bailing for increased safety and a greater experience for the guests. Thanks to the equipment, we were able to start rafting with the guests and surfing waves and rollers.

Åsa handles a lot of booking during the season. Jonas is responsible for the operations outside and works a lot on the river. Jonas is the company’s security manager and also holds a license to train guides.

Jonas has worked extensively with safety in whitewater sports and has helped design the regulations that the Swedish Maritime Administration launched in 1997.

JoPe Fors & Fjäll has the best nature label through nature tourism companies.
